Student Voice

Our school community is shaped by the voices, experiences, and actions of students. At Belmont, we actively seek student input and use it to inform our School Learning Plan, strengthen student engagement, and foster a positive learning environment.

The development of our school logo was a collaborative effort rooted in community. We strive to reflect these same values of collaboration, inclusion, and shared responsibility in partnering to support student success.

Student voice is gathered through a variety of formal and informal opportunities, including:

  • Annual Equity Retreat
  • Career Capstone projects and presentations
  • Clubs, athletic teams, and performance groups
  • Cultural, environmental, and community events
  • Feedback gathered through the CBIEP process
  • Leadership and Grad Leadership classes
  • One-to-one discussions between students and staff
  • Student focus groups
  • Surveys, such as the Student Learning Survey, Equity Survey, and the Grade 12 graduation survey

These opportunities provide both qualitative and quantitative data that help guide school decision-making and ensure that Belmont continues to evolve in response to the needs, interests, and aspirations of our students.
