Outside of work, I’m a big animal lover, and our family includes some very large dogs, rabbits, and goats. When I’m not working or looking after animals, I love reading, arts and crafts, and spending time in the kitchen. I especially enjoy sourdough baking and am always experimenting with something new to bake. I’m excited to be part of the school community and look forward to getting to know more of our families! |

| Susie Paul Treasurer / Sooke Parent Advisory Council (SPEAC) Representative Hi, I’m Susie! I’m a mom to two kids at Poirier Elementary and have lived in Sooke for over 15 years. Through school, hockey, sports, and community activities, I’ve had the pleasure to get to know many wonderful local families. I work in public health and policy development and care about creating welcoming, inclusive communities where families feel supported and connected. Outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy reading, gardening, running, and spending time outdoors with my family and our dog, Shadow. |

| | Lars Nielsen Secretary I am usually an Education assistant, but I have been a full time dad for a few years now. I run a Dungeons and Dragons game for Neurodivergent Teens as a small job on the weekends. My background is laden with education about autism and working with autism. Supporting access for Neurodivergent kids is my ultimate career choice. Outside of work I get excited about advances in AI, while also being about having an ethical infrastructure in place to ensure its appropriate use. My love for tea leaves and their complex past spans 20 years. The tea plant is way cooler than we think it is.

| | Emily Lake Communications Coordinator I am a licensed family daycare owner here in Sooke. When I’m not working, I am hanging out with my two kids and husband either colouring, playing ninja turtles, having dance parties or playing video games. My oldest daughter is in grade one, and my youngest will be joining the Poirier family next year. I’m an avid fantasy reader and caffeine drinker. If I’m not busy running around after toddlers during the day or hanging out with my own kids, I’m usually sipping on a cup of coffee or tea with a book in hand. |

| | Kaylee Dorval Hot Lunch Coordinator I'm a single mom to my Grade 1 son, and I’m excited to be going back to school to become an Education Assistant. I’m really looking forward to learning new things and working with kids in the future. When I’m not busy with school or being a mom, I love spending time outdoors, enjoying nature, gardening, and making memories with family and friends. | | Kim Burton Hot Lunch Coordinator I am the proud mother of two girls who attend École Poirier in Grades 2 and 4. When I’m away from my family, I work as a Materials Coordinator for pipeline operations in Fort McMurray. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, beekeeping, and spending time outdoors. Between work, volunteering, and driving to the many activities our family is involved in, I also love travelling and attending concerts with my husband and daughters. While I have helped with various school activities in the past, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as one of the Hot Lunch Coordinators this year. I look forward to helping make lunchtime a positive experience for our students and seeing everyone’s smiling faces throughout the year! |

| | Kristen Booth Members at Large I am a mom of two amazing girls, a grade 2 at Poirier and a grade 6 at Journey. I am a Navy wife, horse-mom and Corporate Communications Manager. This is my third year throughout my time at Poirier supporting the PAC. |

| | Jen Macdonald Members at Large I am a stay at home mom who also does some bookkeeping part time. I am the proud mother of two children - one in Grade 6 at Journey and one in Grade 3 here at Poirier. This will be my third year serving on the PAC executive but my fifth year assisting with the monthly hot lunch fundraiser. In my spare time, I love reading, doing puzzles and swimming. I'm looking forward to another great year! |
