About Aboriginal Education

Our Purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal students receive a quality education that fosters a strong sense of pride, confidence and knowledge of their heritage. We are working to bring authentic Aboriginal perspectives and culture to spaces throughout our school.

Culturally Responsive Education includes well established communication with local Nations and Aboriginal Education and Na’tsa maht Agreement school cultural plan.  

The Aboriginal Education Department provides the following:

  • Academic and cultural support for all students
  • One on one instruction (within a classroom setting)
  • Help with transition for courses, program and post-secondary education
  • Provides cultural lesson plans and resources to enhance and enrich the classroom for ALL students
  • Aboriginal Education Role Model Program
  • Connects with parents/guardians and provides advocacy for Aboriginal students
