A strong Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is essential to the Lakewood Elementary school. This dedicated group of volunteers helps make key decisions and plans the fun, enriching activities our children enjoy throughout the year. Without a PAC, there would be fewer funds for classroom supplies, field trips, and the special events that make the school year memorable for your children. The PAC also organizes and hosts the weekly Panago Pizza hot lunch, a highlight many students look forward to.

So why get involved?

Parents who join the PAC stay closely connected to their child’s school experience, gain valuable insight into the education system, and play an active role in shaping their child’s learning environment. Your voice and participation truly make a difference!

What is the time commitment?

The PAC meets once a month on the second Tuesday, from 6:30–7:30 PM. Families can join in person in the school library or virtually (check with Lakewood Elementary Parent Community Facebook page for the meeting link), making it easy to stay involved. Each fundraiser is supported by a team of volunteers who help with planning and completing the tasks that make these activities successful. On average, the time commitment is just a few hours each month. With more parents involved, the workload is shared, the time required per person decreases, and we help prevent volunteer burnout.

While we always welcome general volunteers, it’s essential that our key PAC positions are filled to ensure a strong and successful school year. These roles provide the structure and leadership needed for planning events, supporting teachers, and creating meaningful experiences for our students. Your involvement—whether in a leadership role or as part of the volunteer team—helps keep our school community thriving.
