As we prepare to welcome students back to school, we would like to share a few important updates regarding ongoing construction and site remediation around the school. Please review this information with your children, particularly if they walk or bike to and from school independently.

School Field, Fencing & Access Routes

Temporary snow fencing will remain in areas of the school field where remediation work has been completed and new grass seed has been planted. We anticipate the fencing will remain throughout September while the grass becomes established.

For everyone's safety, students should stay out of all fenced areas and not climb over or through the fencing.

Some usual walking routes to and from the school may also be temporarily affected. Designated access routes will remain available; please follow the routes shown on the attached map and any posted signage. Families with children who travel independently are encouraged to review these routes with them before the first day of school. Questions about this work can be sent to facilities@sd62.bc.ca.

Equipment Near the CRD Property

Construction machinery may be stored on the CRD property beside the fire lane. This area will be fenced when equipment is not in use. Please remind children to stay outside the fenced area and away from construction equipment.

Mt. Wells Road Construction

City of Langford contractors are scheduled to work in the area near the school from September 7–12. This may result in additional traffic and congestion, particularly during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. Families driving to school are encouraged to allow extra time and use caution around construction vehicles, workers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

At this time, we have not received confirmation of additional work beyond September 12. We understand the City of Langford has also provided information to neighbourhood residents, and we will share further school-specific updates as they become available.
